The HD/SD-2020 Digital Master Control Processors provide digital audio and video processing for master control switching applications. Designed to be fully compatible with all previous generations of Utah Scientific Master Control Switchers, the 2020 processors offer a convenient and cost-effective upgrade path for owners of existing Utah Scientific MC-500 series analog switchers who wish to upgrade their on-air facilities to digital operation.
The 2020 Processor frame can hold two independent signal processing channels, allowing users to build a system in one frame that supports both standard definition and high definition signal formats, as well as dual channel configurations for either format.
The HD/SD-2020 provides a full range of mixing and keying functionality with one keyer included in the standard package and up to three additional keyers available as plug-in options. Each of the keyers can be placed into the signal processing chain either before or after the mix/effects block, allowing an extremely flexible approach to clean-feed and regional feed applications.
The 2020 processors provide full audio mixing facilities, using embedded audio or separate audio inputs. External audio inputs are also provided for voice-over mixing.
When used with an existing MC-500 series control panel, the HD/SD-2020 emulates all of the functions of the earlier signal processing units, making the change-over from analog to digital operation transparent to the operator.
MCP-2020

The MCP-2020 Master Control Panel was designed to offer maximum operational efficiency in all master control applications. Fully compatible with all previous generations of Utah Scientific Master Control Switchers, the MCP-2020 offers a convenient and cost-effective upgrade path for owners of existing Utah Scientific MC-500-series analog switchers who wish to upgrade their on-air facilities to digital or multi-channel operation.
In addition to compatibility with the MC-500 series, the MCP-2020 provides full control over the advanced functionality offered in the new HD-2020 and SD-2020 Digital Signal Processors. These features, such as multiple keyers, internal DVE options, embedded audio operation, and multi-channel support are all controlled by the MCP-2020 in a way that it operationally compatible with the MC-500 series. This compatibility ensures that operators will be able to move to the MCP-2020 with a minimum of re-training.
BPS-2020

The BPS-2020 Digital Bypass Switcher is an 8x1 switcher for digital video (SD or HD) and digital audio signals. Designed for use in conjunction with the Utah Scientific MC-2020, the BPS-2020 provides a compact, reliable means for switching alternate signals into the program feed, thus bypassing the various elements in the master control signal chain.
ESI-2020

The ESI-2020 is a multi-purpose interface device that is designed to support a number of communications functions in Utah Scientific router/master control systems.
The ESI-2020 hardware platform is housed in a 1RU rack mount chassis with dual power supplies, a main logic board, and up to three device interface boards. A front panel display is used to show device status and to provide feedback on a number of diagnostic and set-up procedures.
The main logic board supports several different embedded software packages that tailor the ESI-2020 to certain applications. Some of the specific configurations of the ESI-2020 are described inside.
BOP-2020

The BOP-2020 Master Control Breakout Panel provides a convenient termination point for all of the digital audio signals, GPI/O, and alarm connections for an MC-2020 Master Control Switcher channel.
The panel is designed to be mounted in the rear of the rack containing the master control processor chassis and is provided with a kit of 3-foot cables to connect to the high-density D-connectors on the processor's rear panel.
The BOP-2020 supports both balanced and unbalanced cabling for the digital audio I/O connections with connectors provided for the full complement of four AES/EBU digital audio levels supported by the MC-2020 processor.
SqueezeMax

SqueezeMax from Utah Scientific is a very powerful Digital Video Effects unit designed expressly for the requirements of the master control environment. While SqueezeMax offers a very high degree of integration with the Utah Scientific MCP-2020 Digital Master Control Switcher, it can also be used as a stand-alone mix/effects unit for applications where the MCP-2020's extensive live-events controls are not required.
KP-400

The KP-400 Key Processor System is a dual HD/SD digital keyer which can be placed in any output slot of a UTAH-400 Router. The KP-400 can be used a standalone keyer, to extend the keying facilities of an MC-400 channel, or as part of a multi-channel master control system under the control of an MC-2020 master control network.

The MC-400 HD/SD Channel Branding System represents a major evolution in the design and deployment of signal processing functionality for live and automated master control systems. The MC-400 can be used a standalone system or as part of a multi-channel master control system under the control of an MC-2020 master control network.
The MC-400 takes full advantage of the unique I/O fl exibility of the UTAH-400 digital routing switcher by placing the signal processing electronics on a single board that can be installed in an output slot of any UTAH-400 router frame. By using this approach, the processor is given full access to every signal available within the router, eliminating the need for external connections between the router and the control electronics.
